The Jeju Provincial Police Agency identified two farms for illegal landfill and waste disposal during its closure. Both farms have been booked without detention.

At farm A in 표선면 Pyoseonmyeon, 2,400 tons of waste, including concrete, and 18 tons of untreated livestock manuveur was illegally buried into a hole of up to 7 meters.

Another Farm B located in (대정읍) Daejeong-eup was caught for illegally storing 993 tons of waste concrete and other waste on the site, violating the standards for proper disposal of waste.

The local police plans to continue to keep an eye on local pig farms and investigate they are properly managing waste.




양돈장 폐기물 불법 매립·무단 적치 2곳 적발
제주도 자치경찰단이 양돈장 폐업 과정에서 폐기물을 불법 매립하고 무단 적치한 혐의로 2곳을 적발해 불구속 송치했습니다.



주요내용을 보면 표선면 A양돈장의 경우 폐콘크리트 등 각종 폐기물 2천 400톤과 미처리 가축분료 18톤을 최대 7미터 가량의 구덩이를 파고 불법 매립한 것으로 나타났습니다.

또 대정읍의 B 양돈장은 사업장 부지내 폐콘크리트 등 993톤을 불법 보관해 폐기물 적정처리 기준을 위반한 것으로 드러났습니다.

자치경찰은 폐업양돈장 전수조사과정에서 이같은 사실을 적발했다며 도내 양돈장의 폐기물 적정처리 여부를 수시로 확인할 계획입니다.
