A bill has been proposed to ban illegal rental vehicles registered outside of the province.

Representative (송재호) Song Jae-ho of the Democratic Party of Korea said he proposed a partial amendment to the Jeju Special Act, which allows the governor to operate a vehicle registration number scanning system for vehicles travelling to and from Jeju via ships.

With the limitation in total number of rental cars that can operated on the island, rental car business have been illegal bringing in cars that are registered outside of the province. Thus, this measure is to stop such illegal cases.

다른 시.도에 등록된 렌터카를 제주에 반입해 불법 영업하는 사례를 차단하기 위한 법안이 발의돼 주목됩니다.

더불어민주당 송재호 국회의원은
선박을 이용해 제주를 오가는 자동차 등록번호를 조회할 수 있는 관리시스템을
도지사가 구축해 운영할 수 있도록 하는 '제주특별법 일부개정법률안'을 대표 발의했다고 밝혔습니다.


이는 렌터카 총량제로 증차가 어렵게 되자 다른 시도의 렌터카가 제주에서 불법 영업을 하는 사례가 발생해 이를 차단하기 위한 조치입니다.
