In order to secure safe commuting routes, the province is working on burying street cables underground, especially near elementary schools.

Jeju City announced that it will carry out the cable underground burying project in earnest this year to secure safe commuting routes around elementary schools and create a pleasant urban living environment.

The project is part of the "Green New Deal" project promoted by the government, and focus on four areas, including (동광)Donggwang Elementary School, (중앙)Jungang Elementary School, Shinkwang Elementary School, and (오라) Ora Elementary School have been selected for the project this year.

Jeju City plans to secure KRW 2.9 billion in funds and will begin construction next month with the aim of completing it within the year.




동광·오라·신광·중앙초 주변 선로 지중화사업 추진


안전한 통학로 확보를 위해 초등학교 주변 가공선로 지중화사업이 본격 추진됩니다.

제주시는 올해 초등학교 주변 안전한 통학로를 확보하고 쾌적한 도시미관을 조성하기 위해 가공선로 지중화 사업을 본격 추진한다고 밝혔습니다.

이 사업은 정부가 추진하는 '그린뉴딜'사업으로 올해 제주시 지역은 동광초등학교와 중앙초, 신광초, 오라초 등 4곳이 사업대상에 선정됐습니다.

제주시는 시설비 29억 원을 확보해 연내 준공을 목표로 다음달 착공할 예정입니다.
