Last year, the employment market in Jeju has recovered to the level before the COVID-19 epidemic.

The number of employed people in Jeju last year, announced by the Jeju branch of Korea National Statistical Office, was 402,000, an increase of 19,000 from the previous year.

It is the largest increase in five years since 2017.

Last year’s employment rate was 69.9%, up 2.5 percentage points from the previous year, exceeding 68.4% from 2019, before the COVID-19 crisis.

The unemployment rate marked 2.1%, down 1 percentage point from a year ago, and the number of unemployed has decreased by 4,000 people.



작년 취업자 1만 9천명 증가…5년 만에 최대


지난해 제주지역 고용시장이 코로나19 유행 이전 수준을 회복한 것으로 나타났습니다.


통계청 제주사무소가 발표한 지난해 제주지역 취업자는 40만 2천명으로 전년 대비 1만 9천명 늘었습니다.

지난 2017년 이후 5년 만에 최대 증가폭입니다.

지난해 고용률은 전년보다 2.5%포인트 상승한
69.9%로
코로나19 사태 이전인 2019년 68.4%를 넘어섰습니다.

실업률은 2.1%로 1년 전과 비교해 1%포인트 하락했고 실업자는 4천명 줄어들었습니다.
