A Super Korean cow weighing over a ton has been shipped from Jeju. The Jeju Livestock Agricultural Cooperative Federation said it shipped a super cow that weighs 1,120kg from a farm in Aewol-eup, Jeju-si.

Super cows are usually raised for more than 45 months before they are shipped but the newly shipped super cow was shipped at 36 months, nine months earlier than usual.

In particular, the super cow was born as a result of the improvement project, and recorded 50kg, which is twice its usual weight.

The average weight of regular Korean cow is 700 kg, and is called a super cow if it exceeds 1,000kg.








제주서 올해 첫 1.1t 슈퍼한우 탄생


제주에서 1톤이 넘는 슈퍼 한우가 출하됐습니다. 제주축산농협은 제주시 애월읍의 한 농장에서 체중 1천 120kg의 슈퍼한우를 출하했다고 밝혔습니다.

슈퍼한우는 통상 약 45개월 이상 사육하는데 이번에 출하된 슈퍼한우는 이보다 9개월 빠른 36개월 만에 출하됐습니다.


특히 이 슈퍼한우는 개량사업을 통해 얻은 결과물로 태어났을 때 체중이 일반 한우에 두 배인 50㎏대를 기록했습니다.

일반 한우의 무게는 평균 700kg으로 1천kg을 넘으면 슈퍼한우로 부릅니다.
