Jeju Employment Up, Employment Rate Down

Last month, while the number of employed individuals in Jeju continued to rise for the fourth consecutive month, the employment-to-population ratio is experiencing a downward trend.

According to the Jeju branch of Statistics Korea, the number of people employed in the Jeju area last month reached 403,000, marking an increase of 2,000 compared to the same period last year. This growth has been sustained for four months in a row.

Notably, the highest increase of 8,000 workers was observed in the sectors of retail, accommodation, and food services.

Despite the growth in the employment-to-population ratio, the employment rate stands at 69.5%, 0.3 percentage points lower than the same month last year.

Furthermore, the number of unemployed individuals last month was 2,000, and the unemployment rate decreased by 0.6 percentage points compared to the previous month.


제주 취업자 4개월째 증가…고용률은 하락세

지난달 제주지역 취업자수가 4개월 연속 증가한 반면
고용률은 하락세를 보이고 있습니다.





통계청 제주사무소에 따르면
지난달 제주지역 취업자 수는 40만 3천명으로
1년 전과 비교해 2천명 늘며
4개월 연속 증가세를 보였습니다.



특히
도소매·숙박·음식점에서
가장 많은 8천명이 증가했습니다.

취업자 증가에도 고용률은 69.5%로
지난해 같은 달보다 0.3%포인트 떨어지며 소폭의 하락세를 이어갔습니다.



이와 함께 지난달 실업자는 2천명,
실업률은 0.6%포인트 하락한 것으로 나타났습니다.
