As the dry spring season approaches, Jeju Fire Department has issued a wildfire safety alert and urged caution.

According to the Jeju Fire Safety Headquarters, over the past five years, there have been a total of 156 wildfire incidents on the island, with 46.8% of these concentrated between March and May, during the spring season.

The majority of these incidents, accounting for 81.4%, were caused by negligence, such as improper disposal of garbage or cigarette butts.

The Fire Department emphasized the importance of vigilance, particularly regarding incidents caused by negligence.

제주에서 발생한 들불 안전사고는 모두 156건으로
이 가운데 46.8%가
봄철인 3월에서 5월 사이에 집중됐습니다.

원인별로는
쓰레기 소각이나 담배꽁초 등
부주의에 의한 화재가 81.4%로 대부분을 차지했습니다.

소방본부는 부주의로 인한 들불 사고가 가장 많은 만큼
각별히 주의해 줄 것을 당부했습니다.
