Jeju residents will automatically be enrolled in an expanded Jeju Resident Safety Insurance scheme, allowing them to receive coverage in the event of various accidents nationwide without the need for separate procedures.

The Province has announced adjustments to certain coverage items of the insurance from this month onwards, along with the establishment of compensation for injury diagnosis.

The coverage amount for death and permanent disability due to injury has been significantly increased from the previous 3 million won to 5 million won.

Since its launch in 2019, the Resident Safety Insurance has paid out a total of 2 billion won to 540 residents by February.



도민안전보험 확대…상해 진단위로금 신설

제주도민이면 별도의 절차 없이 자동으로 가입돼 전국 어디서나 각종 사고로 피해를 입을 경우 보장 받을 수 있는 도민안전보험이 확대됩니다.
제주특별자치도는 더 많은 도민들이 혜택을 받을 수 있도록 이달부터 도민안전보험 일부 보장 항목을 조정하고 상해 진단위로금을 신설했다고 밝혔습니다.
특히 상해 사망.후유장해 항목의 보장금액이 기존 300만 원에서 500만 원으로 대폭 확대됐습니다.
지난 2019년부터 운영된 도민안전보험으로 지난 2월까지 모두 540명의 도민에게 20억 원이 지급됐습니다.
