Surge in Chickenpox Cases in Jeju

Recent reports indicate a sharp increase in chickenpox cases in the Jeju region, prompting a call for caution.

According to the Korea Disease Control and Prevention Agency, the number of chickenpox patients in Jeju this month has reached 103, which is a 54% increase compared to March.

Particularly noteworthy is that it's been six years, since 2018, that the number of chickenpox cases in Jeju has reached triple digits in April.

Health authorities are attributing the increase to sudden changes in temperature and increased face-to-face contact. The province emphasizes the importance of strict hygiene practices and recommend individuals with symptoms seek medical treatment.
