Last month, consumer prices in the Jeju region recorded a 2% increase for the sixth consecutive month.

According to the Jeju Office of the Honam Regional Statistics Office, consumer prices in the region rose by 2.5% last month compared to a year ago.

The rise in consumer prices was the same as in March and has maintained a 2% range for six consecutive months since November last year.

However, the fresh food price index, consisting of fresh fish, vegetables, and fruits subject to significant price fluctuations due to weather conditions or seasonality, surged by 20.2%, contributing to an increased economic burden.



지난달 소비자물가 2.5% 상승…과실·채소 급등

지난달 제주지역 소비자물가가 6개월 연속 2%대 상승률을 기록했습니다.

호남지방통계청 제주사무소에 따르면 지난달 도내 소비자물가는 1년 전과 비교해 2.5% 상승했습니다.

소비자물가 오름폭은 지난 3월과 같았으며 지난해 11월부터 6개월 연속 2%대를 유지했습니다.

다만 신선 생선과 채소, 과일 등 기상조건이나 계절에 따라 가격변동이 큰 품목으로 구성된 신선식품지수는 20.2% 급등하며 서민경제 부담을 키운 것으로 분석됐습니다.
