The on-demand bus service ‘Op-seh Bus’, which dispatches buses when passengers call, will expand its operations.

The Province announced that it would expand the on-demand bus service, which was initially piloted in Aewol-eup (애월읍) and Namwon-eup (남원읍) to Hallim-eup (한림읍) and Hankyung-myeon (한경면) in Jeju City, and Seongsan-eup (성산읍) and Pyoseon-myeon (표선면) in Seogwipo City.

In the mornings, regular bus routes will operate as usual, while from 2 p.m. onwards, buses will be dispatched according to passenger demand.

For Hallim-up (한림읍), considering it’s long route Donggwang (동광), a reservation system requiring 30 minutes' notice will be introduced.

Since the pilot operation of the on-demand bus service last October, the average dispatch interval has decreased from 60 minutes to 16 minutes in Aewol-up (애월읍) and from 43 minutes to 11 minutes in Namwon-up (남원읍).



수요응답형 버스, 한림·한경·성산·표선 확대

승객이 부르면 배차되는 수요응답형 '옵서버스'가 확대 운영됩니다.

제주특별자치도는
기존 제주시 애월읍과
서귀포시 남원읍에서 시범 운영하던 옵서버스를
제주시 한림읍과 한경면,
서귀포시 성산읍과 표선면까지 확대합니다.

오전에는
기존 노선 버스가 그대로 운행되며
오후 2시부터 승객 호출에 따라 배차가 이뤄집니다.

다만 한림읍 권역의 경우
한림에서 동광까지 17km를 오가는 긴 경로를 고려해 30분 전에 예약하는 방식을 도입합니다.

한편 지난해 10월부터 옵서버스를 시범 운영한 결과 애월읍의 경우 평균 배차 간격이
60분에서 16분으로,
남원읍은 43분에서 11분으로 줄었습니다.
