The number of registered residents aged 65 and over in South Korea has exceeded 10 million, with Jeju accounting for about 1.2% of this total, indicating that Jeju's senior population is below the national average.

According to the Ministry of the Interior and Safety, as of the 10th, the registered population aged 65 and over totaled 10 million-sixty two, making up 19.51% of the total registered population.

There are approximately 123,000 seniors in Jeju, accounting for 1.2% of the total and 18.43% of the population, which is below the national average.

The region with the highest proportion of seniors is Jeollanam-do (전라남도) province, with 26.67%, while Sejong (세종) has the lowest at 11.32%.

우리나라 65살 이상 주민등록인구가 1천만 명을 넘어선 가운데 제주는 전체의 1.2% 수준이며,
인구 대비에 있어 평균 이하인 것으로 나타났습니다.

행정안전부에 따르면
지난 10일 기준으로 65살 이상 주민등록 인구는 1천만 62명으로 전체 주민등록 인구의 19.51%를 차지했습니다.

이 가운데 제주의 경우 12만 3천여명으로
전체의 1.2% 수준이며
제주 인구 대비 18.43%로 평균 이하인 것으로 분석됐습니다.

전체 인구 대비 65살 이상 비중이 가장 높은 곳은
전남으로 26.67%를 보였고
반대로 가장 낮은 곳은 세종으로 11.32%로 나타났습니다.
