Employment Down 6,000 for 3 Months
The number of employed people in Jeju has decreased for three consecutive months, casting a shadow over the job market.
According to the Jeju office of Statistics Korea, last month, the number of employed people in the region was 400,000, down 6,000 from a year ago, marking a three-month decline.
Employment fell by 1,000 in July, increased to 5,000 in August, and continued to worsen last month. The decline in employment is particularly pronounced in construction, wholesale and retail, lodging, and food service industries.
