Cities to subsidize paid TV service
Grants available to severely disabled from low-income bracket

Local municipal administrations will begin offering severely disabled islanders from the low-income bracket financial aid for paid television service.

Jeju City and Seogwipo will offer begin offering the grants next month, according to an ordinance governing the practice.

1,700 households with a severely-disabled family member that receive welfare or are classified as low-income are eligible for the financial aid. Sign-up begins in September at community service centers.

외부활동이 어려운 저소득 중증 장애인들에게 TV 유료방송 수신료가 지원됩니다.

제주시와 서귀포시는 제주도 저소등 중증장애인 유료방송이용요금 지원조례에 따라 다음달부터 저소득중증장애인에게 디지털 방송요금을 지원할 계획입니다.

지원대상은 기초수급자와 차상위 중증 장애인 1천 7백여 가구로 서비스 신청은 다음달부터 거주지 읍면동에서 이뤄집니다.
