Substandard mandarins to be rejected at auction
Provincial government, major wholesalers sign agreement

Beginning this year, officials will reject substandard mandarin oranges at auction and immediately return them to growers or fruit packing houses.

The provincial government has signed an agreement with the nation’s major wholesalers. According to it, the merchants will refuse to accept substandard fruit or citrus that has been artificially colored.

The province has invited representatives from more than 100 wholesalers from around the country to Seogwipo this weekend for an event designed to publicize and build support for the new policy.

제주도는 비상품감귤 유통 근절을 위해 전국 도매시장법인 등과 협약을 맺고
비상품이거나 강제착색된 감귤에 대해서는 경매시장 상장을 거부하기로 합의했습니다.

제주도는 오는 5일과 6일 서귀포에서 전국 과실중도매인연합회 회원 100여 명이 참여하는 비상품감귤 유통 근절 결의대회를 개최합니다.
