A village located in Pyoseon-myeon, Seogwipo possessing 600 years of livestock farming experience is transforming into a ‘digital culture village’.
Equipped with the village’s own broadcasting channel, Gasi-ri became possible to share information in real time.

As the first digital culture village in the nation, experts assume that it will be another stepping stone for the village to develop.

This is Gasi-ri in Pyoseon-myeon, Seogwipo City.
This village has a whopping 600 years of livestock farming culture.

With the recent creation of a wind power complex, it is gaining much attention as the center of new and renewable energy industry.

Along with its breathtaking natural scenery and the renewable energy industry, Gasi-ri established a state-of-the-art digital infrastructure.

Based on the agreement signed with KCTV Jeju in July, Gasi-ri became a digital culture village.

By setting up 200km optical cable, most of the villagers can now enjoy clear pictures on their TV screens. The exclusive channel for Gasi-ri offers not only specialized contents but also TV subtitling service devoted to community announcements in real-time.

Since the digital village establishment project in Saekdal Village in 2009, the Gasi-ri digital culture village is the second project of its kind.
