Crackdown on illegal mandarin distribution
Authorities focusing on fruit shipped via parcel service

The provincial government plans to carry out an intensive crackdown on the illegal distribution of mandarin oranges through parcel services.

The province will form a joint investigative team with municipal police, city offices, and private organizations. Those investigators will then visit parcel company offices and collection sites to check to see if they are distributing sub-par mandarins. Local authorities will also step up monitoring of sales through online shopping sites.

If the team uncovers any unripened mandarins being sent via parcel, the fruit will be destroyed and the violator fined up to five million won.

택배를 이용해 비상품 감귤을 유통하다 적발될 경우에는
적발된 감귤은 전량 폐기하고 해당 업체에 대해서는 최대 5백만 원의
과태료가 부과됩니다.
