Jeju forms task force for expansion of existing airport
New group led by governor began work Wednesday

As part of the follow-up to Tuesday’s announcement that a second Jeju airport will be built, the provincial government has formed a task force to facilitate expansion of the existing airport.

The task force began its first day of work Wednesday, with five support groups from the provincial government and Jeju Governor Won Heeryong at the helm.

The task force will be responsible for supporting the Transportation System Improvement Bureau, advertising in the media, dealing with civil complaints, and leading interagency and international cooperation efforts.

제주특별자치도가 제2공항 입지 발표에 따른 후속조치로 공항확충지원 종합대책본부를 꾸리고 운영에 들어갔습니다.

제주도는 오늘 오전 도청 교통제도개선추진단 사무실에서 종합대책본부 현판식을 열고 공식 업무를 시작했습니다.

공항확충지원 종합대책본부는 원희룡 지사를 본부장으로 하고 도청 실국별 5개 지원반으로 구성됐습니다.

종합대책본부는 앞으로 전담부서인 교통제도개선추진단을 지원해 언론 홍보와 민원 해결, 유관기관과의 대외협력 업무 등을 담당하게 됩니다.
