Moneual’s Jeju property appraised at \44.7b
Company went bankrupt after mortgage fraud uncovered

(모뉴엘) Moneual is a company that went bankrupt last year and the value of its property in Jeju is said to be well over 40 billion won.

According to Jeju District Court, (모뉴엘) Moneual’s creditor, the Korea Development Bank, requested that a voluntary auction be held and that its local property was appraised at 44.7 billion won.

The company declared bankruptcy late last year and shocked the financial industry after it was found to have received loans amounting to trillions of won based on fraudulent export contracts.

The company building is the single most expensive property to have ever been appraised in Jeju. It remains to be seen, however, whether an auction for the building will really happen.

제주지방법원에 따르면 모뉴엘의 채권은행인 산업은행이 신청한 임의 경매에서 모뉴엘 제주사옥의 감정가는 447억 원으로 산정됐습니다.

모뉴엘은 부당대출 등으로 부채규모만 7천 3백억 원에 달해 지난해 말 파산신고 결정이 내려졌습니다.

이번 모뉴엘 사옥의 경매가액은 제주지역 단일 사옥으로는 사상 최고가로 실제 낙찰로 이어질 지는 미지숩니다.
