JDC may terminate contract with apartment developer
Issue involves housing construction in Jeju Science Park

The Jeju Free International City Development Center says it is considering terminating an agreement it signed with the developer of the new (꿈에그린) “Goomae Green” apartment complex in the Jeju Science Park, citing a breach of contract.

The JDC convened a board of directors meeting last month. Board members reportedly agreed to terminate the land purchase agreement with DRM City. They also agreed to seek indemnification due to the apartment developer’s recent announcement that it would rent out housing units instead of selling them as initially planned.

Housing units for the new apartment complex were due to be up for sale several months ago but the process has been stalled due to disputes regarding the price and sales method.

The JDC says it will try to reach an agreement, but that if both parties fail to find common ground, it will pursue legal measures to settle the case.

JDC 관계자는 소송 이전에 첨단과기단지 입주기업 근로자에 대한 우선분양 혜택 등 계약 사항을 이행할 수 있도록 시행사와 협의를 벌이겠다고 밝혔습니다.

첨단과학기술단지 꿈에 그린 아파트는 고분양가 논란과 분양 방식 전환 등을 이유로 수개 월째 분양 공고가 나지 않고 있습니다.
