600,000+ cruise tourists visit Jeju in 2015
5% more than last year

More than 600,000 cruise tourists have visited Jeju this year.

The provincial government said the running tally as of Wednesday was about 610,000. That’s five percent more than the corresponding period last year.

Data also showed that sales to those tourists of Samdasoo bottled water and Jeju food had a significant impact on the regional economy, bringing in some 800 million won.

The province added that in 2016, cruise ships are scheduled to make 557 stops on the island, about 200 more than this year. They will be bringing more than one million visitors with them.

올해 제주 크루즈 관광객이 60만 명을 돌파했습니다.
제주특별자치도에 따르면 올들어 지금까지 크루즈 누적 관광객 수는
61만 여 명으로 지난해 같은 기간보다 5% 증가 했습니다.

특히 삼다수와 제주산 농수축산물 판매로 인한 지역경제효과도
8억 원이 넘는 것으로 조사됐습니다.

제주도는 내년에는 올해보다 200 회 늘어난 557차례의 크루즈 선이 들어올 예정이며 누적관광객도 사상 처음 1백만 명을 넘을 것으로 내다보고 있습니다.
