Province plans to change layout of Gangjeong cruise terminal
Officials want to expand facility to meet rising demand

The province is looking to change the layout of the cruise terminal at the Gangjeong civil-military port.

In order to meet rising demand, the provincial government is considering doubling the size of the immigration checkpoint, which is currently planned to hold up to 2,000 people, as well as the parking lot, which was initially set to have spaces for 30 buses.

The province will submit the proposal to the national government for revision before finalizing the plan.

Work on the Gangjeong cruise terminal is currently on hold due to the building of a road for construction vehicles to use.

제주특별자치도가 강정 민군복합항크루즈터미널 설계변경을 추진합니다.

제주도는 크루즈 관광 수요가 높아짐에 따라 기존 2천명 규모의 입국심사장 시설을 늘리고 주차장도 관광버스 30대 규모에서
두 배 이상 확충하는 방안을 검토 중입니다.

특히 이같은 설계변경 계획을 정부에 건의한 뒤 향후 터미널 조성사업에 반영할 계획입니다.

현재 강정 크루즈 터미널은 공사 차량 진입로 조성 등으로
공사가 중단된 상태입니다.
