‘More public housing, new residential areas’
Province releases 10-year housing plan

More public housing will be built for the underprivileged and new residential districts will be formed around the old city center and in suburban areas.

The provincial government on Wednesday released its housing plan. It intends to provide 10,000 new housing units annually for 10 years, beginning next year.

The number of public housing units will go from the current 9,000 to 29,000. Over the same period, there will also be 10,000 more units built by the private sector.

In addition, the province said it would form new small residential districts in suburban areas and around the old city center.

취약계층을 위한 임대주택 물량이 확대되고 원도심과 읍면지역을 중심으로 신개념의 주거지역이 조성됩니다.

제주특별자치도는 이같은 내용을 골자로 한 공공주도의 제주형주거복지 종합계획을 발표했습니다. 주요내용을 보면 내년부터 2025년까지 주택 공급 물량을 매년 1만호 씩 총 10만 호를 공급합니다.

이 가운데 공공임대 주택 물량을 현재 9천 호에서 2만 9천호로 확대 보급하고 중산층을 겨냥한 기업형 임대주택 1만호도 추가 공급할 계획입니다.

또 읍면지역과 원도심 지역에 경관과 지역 특성을 고려한
소규모 택지도 조성할 예정입니다.
