Jeju to get its first multipurpose firefighting helicopter
Modified ‘Surion’ expected to launch in 2018

The Surion transport helicopter will be modified in order to serve as Jeju’s first multipurpose firefighting helicopter.

The Jeju Fire Safety Headquarters said Wednesday it had signed an agreement with Korea Aerospace Industries to produce a firefighting version of the twin-engine transport utility helicopter used by the Marines.

The development of the modified aircraft is expected to take up to 24 months. The 25-billion-won helicopter will likely be launched in 2018.

제주도소방안전본부는 조달청으로부터 가격개찰 결과를 통보받고
한국항공우주산업과 소방헬기 계약을 체결했다고 밝혔습니다.

가격은 252억 3천만 원 입니다. 이에 따라 제주소방헬기는
앞으로 24개월의 제작기간을 거쳐 오는 2018년 투입될 예정입니다.
