January snowstorm causes \7b in damages
Collapsed greenhouses, fish farm die-offs top list

January’s record snowfall is estimated to have caused around 7 billion won in damages.

The provincial government is continuing to receive damage reports from farms across the island as of Friday (February 5th). More than 2,600 cases have been registered, totalling over six-point-nine billion won.

Farms with greenhouses were the hardest hit, with some 25 cases tallying over four-point-nine billion won in damages. Fish farms also incurred losses from the heavy snow. Thirty-four cases have been reported so far, accounting for approximately 1 billion won in damages.

The province is also offering partial compensation to farmers depending on the type of damage they suffered. It is hoped this will help speed up the recovery process.


폭설·한파 피해규모 70억 육박

지난달 폭설과 한파로 인한 피해규모가 70억원에 이르고 있습니다.

제주특별자치도가 농어가를 대상으로 폭설과 한파 피해 신고 접수를 받은 결과
오늘(5일)까지 들어온 피해 건수는 2천 6백여 건에 피해 금액은 69억 7천여 만 원으로 70억 원에 육박하고 있습니다.

비닐하우스 피해가 25건에 49억 원으로 가장 많고 양식장 피해도 34건에 10억 원을 넘는 것으로 나타났습니다.

제주특별자치도는 피해 접수와 함께 분야별 보상기준을 마련해 복구비 등을
조기 지원하고 있습니다.
