Jeju land prices up 19.35%
Largest increase in the country

Land prices across Korea rose at the highest pace in the last year since the start of the financial crisis in 2008, with prices here in Jeju leading the way.

According to a report released Monday by the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport…prices were up an average of 4.47 percent in the country, based on official appraised values as of January first. Jeju land prices ballooned 19.35 percent year-on-year.

They were up 19.63 percent in Seogwipo and 19.15 percent in Jeju City.

The ministry attributed the rise to the continued influx of new residents and heightened demand for land on the back of various development projects.

국토교통부에 따르면, 올해 제주도의 표준공시지가 상승률은 19.35%로
전국 평균 4.47%를 크게 웃돌며 전국 17개 시.도가운데 압도적으로 높았습니다.

시.군.구별 표준공시지가 상승률도 서귀포시와 제주시가 각각 19.63%와 19.15%를 기록하며 전국에서 1,2위를 차지했습니다.

국토교통부는 제주지역의 경우 인구 유입이 계속되고, 각종 개발사업이 진행되면서 토지 수요가 늘었기 때문으로 분석하고 있습니다.
