New agreement on sharing tourism data
Province, Shinhan Card, BOK to use info for policymaking

The provincial government, Shinhan Card, and the Jeju branch of the Bank of Korea have agreed to create a joint database to develop tourism on the island.

According to the agreement, all three parties will be able to access credit card usage information to monitor frequented tourist attractions and spending patterns by foreigners visiting Jeju.

The data will be analyzed and used for future policymaking regarding local tourism.

The province says it hopes the three-way agreement will pave the way toward greater satisfaction among visitors to the island.

道-신한카드-한은, 관광 빅데이터 활용 협약
제주특별자치도와 신한카드, 한국은행 제주본부가
관광 만족도를 높이기 위한 빅데이터 활용 협약을 체결했습니다.

이번 협약에 따라 이들 기관은 카드 승인 데이터를 활용해
실제 관광객의 소비 성향이나 외국인 관광객의 지출 패턴을 분석하게 됩니다.

빅데이터 분석 결과를 바탕으로
제주 관광 정책을 수립하는데 반영해 나가기로 했습니다.

제주도는 이번 협약으로 객관성 있는 관광 자료를 도출하고
관광객 만족도를 높이는 데 도움될 것으로 기대하고 있습니다.
