Roof-thatching underway at Jeju Folk Village
100 traditional houses getting new roofs through next month

The spring tradition of roof-thatching is underway at Jeju Folk Village.

Organizers some 100 traditional houses in the village will be getting new roofs through next month.

Compared to similar structures elsewhere in the country, thatched roofs in Jeju are more closely woven together and use thicker straw.

제주민속촌에서 진행되고 있습니다.

100여 채의 초가지붕 잇기 작업을 진행하고 있습니다.

제주도의 초가는 다른 지역보다 집줄의 두께가 두껍고
바둑판 식으로 촘촘하게 매는 것이 특징입니다.
