Jeju Airport gets automated tax refund kiosk
International tourists qualify for refunds on select purchases

International tourists are now able to get tax refunds for some purchases here through an automated system.

According to the Jeju Customs office, an automated kiosk on the third floor of the international departures section of the airport goes online in April.

Foreign tourists, when leaving the country, are entitled to refunds for value added tax and individual consumption tax paid on items bought from designated establishments in Korea. An average of 3,000 tourists daily claim the refunds at Jeju International Airport.

제주공항 3층 국제선 출발 대합실에
내국세 환급 전용 키오스크를 설치해
다음달부터 운영한다고 밝혔습니다.

내국세 환급 제도는
외국인 관광객들이 국내 사후면세사업장에서
물품을 구매하고 돌아갈 때
부가세 등 내국세를 환급받는 제도로,
제주공항 내국세 환급 건수는
하루 평균 3천 건에 이르고 있습니다.
