Udo visitor tally exceeds 500,000
12% more than last year

More people are visiting the small island of Udo.

According to Jeju City officials, 500 thousand had visited as of April 15th this year. That’s 12% more than during the same period last year.

560 million won in entrance fees were collected this year, and that’s 11 percent more than in 2015.

Recently, some 5,000 people are making the short trip by ferry each day during the week, and as many as 8,000 are going on Saturdays and Sundays.

Officials expect the visitor tally by the end of the year to top 2.2 million.

우도 탐방객 50만명 돌파…12% 증가

섬속의 섬 우도를 찾는 관광객들이 꾸준히 늘고 있습니다.

제주시에 따르면 올들어 지난 15일까지 우도해양도립공원 탐방객은 50만여 명으로
지난해 같은 기간보다 12% 증가했습니다.

이 기간 입장료 수입액도 5억 6천여 만원으로 지난해 같은 기간보다 11% 증가했습니다.

한편 최근 하루 평균 우도 탐방객은 평일에는 5천명, 주말에는 8천100여 명에 이르면서 올해 말까지 220만명을 넘어설 것으로 예상됩니다.
