Nationwide search for Jeju, Seogwipo mayoral candidates
2-year terms begin in June

The provincial government is looking for new mayors for the island's two cities.

Jeju City and Seogwipo mayors will be hired through an open selection. Applications are being accepted next week from Monday to Friday from anyone in the country.

A special committee will screen all candidates and narrow the pool down to two or three for each post. The governor will then select the new mayors from among those choices.

The nominees will have to sit for confirmation hearings at the provincial council, after which they will be appointed to two-year terms that expire June 30th, 2018.

제주특별자치도가 제주시장과 서귀포시장 공개 모집에 나섰습니다.

원서접수는 오는 23일부터 27일까지 5일간이며
이후 선발시험위원회의 심사를 거쳐 직위별로 두명 또는 세명의 후보자를 선정해
도지사에게 추천하면 도지사는 이 가운데 한명을 내정하게 됩니다.

그리고 도의회의 인사청문을 실시한 후 최종 임용하는 절차를 거치게 됩니다.
임기는 임용일로부터 오는 2018년 6월 30일까집니다.
