Electric buses to run in Seogwipo from July
23 vehicles on 9 downtown routes

Seogwipo will be getting the nation’s first electric buses this summer.

The municipal government says it recently bought an additional 16 electric buses, bringing its fleet to 23. They will run downtown routes beginning in July.

Dongseo Traffic Corporation will operate the vehicles on nine routes.

After the service is up and running, provincial officials say Jeju City will get electric buses on downtown routes next year.

7월부터 서귀포 도심권에 '전기버스' 운행

올해 하반기부터 서귀포시내 노선에
전국에서는 처음으로 전기버스가 도입됩니다.

제주특별자치도는 전기버스 16대를 추가로 매입해
이르면 오는 7월부터 서귀포시 도심권에서 모두 23대를 운행하기로 했습니다.

전기버스는 서귀포 시내버스 업체인
동서교통이 시내 도심권 9개 노선을 운행하게 됩니다.

제주도는 서귀포시에 우선적으로 전기버스를 도입한 뒤
내년에는 제주시 도심권으로 확대할 계획입니다.
