Probe into Lotte Group widens to Jeju
Authorities investigating alleged slush fund

Prosecutors have expanded their investigation into an alleged Lotte Group slush fund with raids in Jeju, adding pressure to the country's fifth-largest conglomerate.

Over 10 investigators from the Seoul Prosecutors' Office arrived in Jeju Tuesday and raided the Lotte Jeju Resort in Seogwipo and the Lotte Hotel Jeju in the Jungmun Tourism Complex.

Prosecutors are looking into allegations of the slush fund as well as breach of trust involving transactions among the group's companies.

Tuesday’s raid was part of 15 raids nationwide into Lotte affiliates, including chemical and confectionary businesses.

서귀포시 롯데제주리조트와 중문관광단지 롯데호텔제주를 압수수색 했습니다.

이는 롯데그룹이 계열사간에 자산이나 부동산 거래 과정에서
횡령과 배임 등의 혐의를 포착한 데 따른 것입니다.

이날 압수수색은 롯데호텔제주를 비롯해
롯데건설, 롯데케미칼 등 계열사 10여곳을 포함해
모두 15곳에서 진행되는 것으로 알려졌습니다.
