Jeju Myths and History Theme Park gets \300b boost
First phase expected to open in late 2017

The construction of the Jeju Myths and History Theme Park is gaining speed as investors have poured an extra 300 billion won into the project.

Genting Singapore and Landing International Development each invested half of the 300 billion won, which works out to a total of 255 million US dollars.

The addition boosts direct foreign investment in the project from 506 million to 761 million dollars, or 860 billion won.

The developer of the Jeju Myths and History Theme Park, Landing Jeju Development, says it expects to complete the first phase of construction by the second half of 2017, when a 1,300-room hotel, a theme park, a casino, and a venue for large gatherings will open.

람정제주개발측에 따르면 공동투자회사인 란딩인터내셔널과 겐팅싱가포르는 최근 50% 씩 분담해 우리나라 돈으로 3천억원인
2억 5천 500만 달러의 외국인 직접투자를 추가 신고했습니다.

이에 따라 람정제주개발의 외국인직접투자금액은 5억 600만 달러에서
7억 6천 100만달러, 우리나라 돈으로 8천 600억원으로 늘어났습니다.

람정제주개발은 현재의 공사 추세라면 내년 하반기쯤
1천 300여실의 호텔과 테마파크, 카지노, MICE 시설 등
1단계 사업을 개장할 수 있을 것으로 기대했습니다.
