Jeju to expand high school transportation allowance program
1,100 more students to become eligible in second semester

The provincial government will expand its transportation allowance program for high school students in rural communities.

Currently, only those students whose families are involved in farming and fishing may receive grants to cover transportation costs. From the second half of this year, funding will be extended to all high school students living in rural farming and fishing villages.

That translates to an additional 1,100 students who will be eligible for the support, which ranges from 2,000 won to 5,600 won a day, depending on the distance from the student’s home to their school.

농어촌 고등학생 교통비 지원 확대

읍면지역에 사는 농어촌 고등학생에 대한 통학 교통비가 확대 지원됩니다.

제주특별자치도는 올 하반기부터 농어촌 고등학생에 대한 통학 교통비 지원 대상을 현행 농어촌 지역 고등학교에서 동지역 고등학교 재학생으로 확대합니다.

이렇게 되면 농어촌 고등학생 1천 100여명이 추가 혜택을 받게 됩니다.

교통비는 이동 거리에 따라 하루 2천 원에서 최대 5천 6백 원까지 차등 지원됩니다.
