Beginning in October, everyone in Jeju City will have to use electronic cards to pay for the disposal of all food waste.

City officials say the current food disposal bags may be used through the end of September.

Any unused food disposal bags can be exchanged for disposable garbage bags at community service centers.

It is 22 won to dispose of every kilogram of food waste. The cards used to pay for it can also be used to pay for public transport. They can be bought and recharged at convenience stores.
