Authorities beef up inspections for banned tropical fruits
Violators will be fined

The Animal and Plant Quarantine Agency is focusing more this summer on ensuring no tropical fruits such as mangos and mangosteens are brought to Jeju this summer.

Authorities are keeping a closer eye on items being brought into the province through inspections at the airport and seaports. If caught with banned tropical fruits, travelers will be fined.

Authorities are also cracking down on illegal sales of tropical fruits on the island.

여름 휴가철을 맞아 망고나 망고스틴 같은 열대과일 반입에 대한
단속이 강화됩니다.

농림축산검역본부는 오늘(25일)부터 다음달 7일까지
공·항만 입국장에서 해외여행객을 대상으로 망고 등 수입이 금지된 열대과일 반입에 대한 특별검역을 실시합니다.

만약 열대과일을 상습적으로 반입하다 적발되면 과태료가 부과됩니다.

검역본부는 불법 반입된 열대과일이 판매되고 있는지도
집중 점검할 방침입다.
