Area middle schools students recently took it upon themselves to organize a performance for senior citizens in their community. Here’s Joseph Kim with their story.

Jeoji Community Center in Hangyeong-myeon, Jeju City
Students are dancing to the rhythm of the music in front of a group of senior citizens. Though their routine is far from perfect, the elderly are appreciative and happy to see these young kids performing for them.
When the students and teachers’ performance came to a climax, the elderly couldn’t help but dance along.

Students from Jeocheong (조청) Middle School visited a nearby senior welfare center. Around 30 of the students participated in the talent donation performance for the seniors.

Educators believe such participation offers students the opportunity to gain leadership experience and learn the value of teamwork.
