'Support for those living near Aewol LNG facility'
Kang Chang-il submits proposal at National Assembly

One of Jeju’s representatives at the National Assembly has introduced a bill designed to help the area around a new LNG supply facility on the island.

강창일 Kang Chang-il’s proposal aims to to support the people who live near Jeju City’s Aewol Harbor.

The bill proposes designating all areas within five kilometers of the site as an “LNG supply system zone,” and stipulating in that zone support for public facilities, training and education, welfare projects, and the arts.

The cost for the support will be levied on either the companies that own the supply system or the gas distributors.

이 지역 주민들을 위한 복리증진 지원방안이 추진됩니다.
국회 강창일 의원은 이같은 내용의 '액화천연가스 인수기지 주변지역 지원 법률안'을 발의했다고 밝혔습니다.
주요내용을 보면 인수기지 주변 5킬로미터 이내를 LNG 인수기지 주변지역으로 지정하고 해당 지역에 공공시설 지원사업과 교육,
복지지원사업, 문화예술지원사업을 명문화했습니다.
또 지원사업에 따른 재정 부담과 사업 추진은
인수기지를 소유하거나 운영하는 업체,
또는 가스공급시설 설치공사 업체가 맡도록 했습니다.
