Provincial government has proposed selling site to KTO

Talks between the provincial government and the Korea Tourism Organization on the proposed sale of Jungmun Resort have been postponed… a year after negotiations began.

The KTO on Thursday requested that the negotiations be put on hold until the outsourced planning of content for a Cultural Creation Convergence Belt in Jungmun wraps up in April.

The provincial government has reportedly agreed to the postponement and will continue to check on the progress of the planning as well as prepare for the resumption of negotiations next year.

Talks on the proposed sale of Jungmun Resort to the KTO began in November 2014 as part of the government’s initiative to reform the public sector.

한국관광공사는 정부의 문화창조융합벨트 구축사업과 관련해 중문단지 내에 융.복합 상설 공연장 건립을 위한 문화컨텐츠 거점 기본구상 용역을 추진한다며 내년 4월까지 매각협상을 유보하자는 의견을 전해왔습니다.

이에 따라 제주도는 우선 한국관광공사의 의견을 받아들이고 정부와 한국관광공사에서 시행하는 문화컨텐츠 거점 기본구상 용역 진행상황을 수시로 파악해 대처하기로 했습니다.

특히 매입.매각 방침에는 변함이 없다는 것으로 판단하고 협상재개를 위한 준비는 계속해서 추진한다는 계획입니다.
