Ora District to get additional detention basin
Completion scheduled in 2018


Authorities will build a new detention basin in an area prone to flooding after typhoons and heavy rainfall.


The province will spend 11.5 billion won to build the facility in the upper area of the Ora District.


The new basin will have a capacity of 43,000 tons of water. It is slated for completion within the first half of 2018.


Since Typhoon Nari in 2007, the local government has set up 13 detention basins in streams that flow into urban areas of Jeju City.


오라지구 저류지 추가 조성…2018년 완공


태풍과 집중호우에 따른 하천범람을 예방하기 위한 저류지가 추가로 조성됩니다.


제주시는 사업비 115억원을 투입해 오라지구 토천 상류지역에 저류지를 추가 시설한다고 밝혔습니다.


이번에 조성되는 저류지는 4만3천톤 규모로 오는 2018년 상반기 완공될 예정입니다.


제주시 지역에는 지난 2007년 태풍 나리 이후 도심 하천 상류지역에 13개의 저류지를 설치했습니다.
