‘Southernmost Yellowtail Festival’ underway in Moseulpo
Variety of activities, food through Sunday


The Southernmost Yellowtail Festival began Thursday at Moseulpo Port in Daejeong-eup, Seogwipo.


The annual event in honor of the yellowtail fish, a local delicacy popularly enjoyed raw, began with a commencement ceremony, and then singing performances, including some numbers by haenyeo, the island’s iconic female sea divers.


Through this Sunday, visitors will be able to take part in a number of activities, including the ever-popular barehanded yellowtail fishing event, and enjoy some free food.


최남단방어축제 내일 개막…20일까지 열려


제주 겨울바다의 대표 횟감인 방어를 소재로 한 방어축제가 내일(17일) 개막해 나흘 동안 서귀포시 대정읍 모슬포항 일원에서 열립니다.


최남단방어축제위원회가 주관하는 올해 축제는 풍어제와 개막식을 시작으로 가요제, 해녀노래자랑 등으로 진행됩니다.


특히 축제의 인기프로그램인 방어 맨손잡기를 비롯해 방어 경매, 무료 시식코너 등이 마련돼 관람객들을 맞이합니다.
