Jeju economy improves in third quarter
Retail and service sectors lead growth


Jeju’s economy improved in the third quarter of this year, led by growth in the service and retail sectors.


According to the Honam Regional Statistics Office, Jeju’s service industry production index in the third quarter rose seven percent compared to the same period last year, thanks to stronger performance in the transportation and finance industries. The retail sales index also increased 11 percent.


Imports were up eight percent and construction orders climbed five percent.


Meanwhile, the export index dropped 3.6 percent in the third quarter, due to fewer shipments of electronic components and beverages.

올해 3분기 제주지역 서비스업생산지수는
운수와 금융업을 중심으로
지난해 같은 기간보다 7% 상승했고 소매판매액지수도 11% 올랐습니다.


수입부문과 건설수주도 각각 8%와 5% 상승하며 호조세를 보였습니다.


반면 수출액지수는
전자부품과 음료 등의 수출 감소로 3.6% 하락했습니다.
