Waste disposal time adjusted
Trash, recyclables may be brought out 3 PM-4 AM


You can now take out your trash and recyclables from three in the afternoon to four in the morning.

After a meeting with both of the island’s municipal administrations, the provincial government modified its new trash pick up system. A trial run of the system started this month.


Recyclables are still only picked up on specific days in Jeju City. Only the times have been changed. Originally, residents could only bring out their waste between 6 p.m. and 12 a.m.

Next month, the designated day system for disposal will be implemented in Seogwipo. Officials will then review the policy and see what needs to be tweaked.


쓰레기 배출시간 오후 3시~새벽 4시로 조정


제주시 지역 생활쓰레기 배출허용 시간이 오늘(9일)부터 오후 3시부터 다음날 새벽 4시까지로 조정됐습니다.


제주도는 양 행정시와 이달부터 시작된 요일별 배출제에 시범 운영에 따른 긴급 대책회의를 열고 요일별 배출품목은 그대로 유지하되 배출 시간은 늘리기로 했습니다.


이에따라 배출시간은 기존 오후 6시부터 밤 12시까지에서 오후 3시부터 다음날 새벽 4시까지로 확대됐습니다.


제주도는 이와함께 다음달 서귀포시에서도 요일별 배출제를 확대 운영한 후 개선 방안을 찾아나가기로 했습니다.
