More than four out of every ten households on the island do not own their own home.

Statistics Korea says 97,000 households in Jeju last year were not homeowners. That works out to 44 percent.

Among the 123,000 that did own their own home, 37,000 owned two or more. That’s 20.7 percent, which is the second highest in the nation, following only Sejong City.

About 7,000 households owned three homes, 2,000 owned four residences, and another 2,000 owned five or more houses.

제주도내 10가구 중 4가구 이상은 '자기 집'이 없는 것으로 나타났습니다.

통계청이 발표한 지난해 주택소유통계에 따르면 제주지역의 무주택 가구는 9만 7천여가구로 전체의 44%를 차지했습니다.

반면 주택을 보유한 12만 3천가구 가운데 2채 이상 소유한 가구는 20.7%인 3만 7천가구로 세종시에 이어 전국에서 두번째 높은 비율을 기록했습니다.

또 3채를 보유한 가구는 7000 가구, 4채 2000 가구, 5채 이상도 2000 가구가 넘는 것으로 집계됐습니다.
