All tests for bird flu virus come back negative
Exams done at 20 farms, 5 migratory bird habitats

Local authorities say all tests in Jeju for the avian influenza virus have come back negative, even as a bird flu outbreak continues to spread across the mainland.

The provincial animal hygiene lab studied the feces of migratory birds at five spots that are considered at high-risk for the virus. All results came back negative, as did tests at 20 farms.

The laboratory is advising people to follow the guidelines that were designed to keep Jeju free from bird flu. Those include fumigating vehicles and controlling access to farms.

전국에 조류인플루엔자 비상이 걸린 가운데 제주에서는 현재까지 AI 바이러스가 검출되지 않았습니다.

제주도 동물위생시험소가 최근 철새도래지 등 취약지역 다섯 개소에서 야생조류 분변 검사를 실시한 결과 AI 바이러스는 검출되지 않았다고 밝혔습니다.

또 AI 중점방역관리지구 농가 20여 개소에 대한 일제검사에서도 모두 음성 판정이 나왔습니다.

동물위생시험소는 AI안전지대 유지를 위해 차량 소독과 농가 출입 통제 등의 가금농가 방역 사항을 준수해달라고 당부했습니다.
