Eased standards for development fees
Government will collect \1b less over next 3 years

For the next three years, more small construction sites on the island will not be subject to a development fee.

According to a new amendment, the standard on which the charge is based for sites in urban areas is going from 990 square meters to 1,500 square meters. Elsewhere, it’s going from 1,650 to 2,500 square meters.

This change encompasses both industrial and housing developments.

Local officials say the eased standards mean developers will pay about one billion won less in development fees between now and the end of 2019.

소규모 개발사업장에 대한 개발부담금 제도가 한시적으로 완화됩니다.

개정된 개발이익 환수에 관한 법률에 따르면 올해부터 2019년까지 3년 동안 개발부담금이 부과되는 소규모 사업장 면적이 도시지역은 기존 990제곱미터에서 1천 500 제곱미터로, 비도시지역은 1천 650제곱미터에서 2천 500 제곱미터로 완화됐습니다.

또 산업단지 내 택지개발사업장도 부과대상에서 제외됩니다.

제주도는 이번 규제완화로 향후 3년간 개발부담금 10억원이 감면될 것으로 예상하고 있습니다.
