Jeju City expands subsidized rice program
Now covering 90% of cost for lowest-income households

Jeju City is this year expanding its subsidized rice program for the city’s lowest-income households.

The municipal administration will now cover 90 percent of the price for recipients of basic livelihood and medical benefit assistance. It had covered 50 percent of the cost. The government will pick up half of the bill for households with slightly higher income.

In addition, the monthly limit in subsidized rice purchases will go from 40 to 50 kilograms. The city will pay the Jeju Hope Cooperative to deliver the rice.

저소득층 정부양곡 지원율 90%로 상향

올해부터 저소득층에게 지원되는 정부양곡 할인율이 상향 조정됩니다.

제주시는 생계.의료급여 수급자에 대해 정부양곡 지원율을 기존 50%에서 90%로 상향하고 차상위계층에는 50%를 지원한다고 밝혔습니다.

또 한달 구매량도 5인 가구 기준으로 기존 월 40kg에서 50kg으로 확대합니다.

정부양곡은 제주희망협동조합에 위탁해 가정으로 배달되며 택배료는 제주시가 부담합니다.
