No highly toxic pesticides detected at local golf courses
Low toxicity chemicals found in soil, pond water

Golf courses in Jeju have scored relatively safe in pesticide tests.

The Jeju Institute of Health and Environment tested the amount of residual pesticide at 40 area courses.

Researchers detected no highly toxic pesticides, but they did find about 10 low toxicity chemicals in soil and pond water samples from 35 courses.

The institute strongly recommends that the courses use eco-friendly pesticides from now on.

도내 골프장 고독성 농약 '불검출'

제주도내 골프장이 농약검사에서 비교적 안전한 것으로 나타났습니다.

제주도보건환경연구원이 지난해 도내 골프장 40곳을 대상으로 농약 잔류량을 검사한 결과 대체로 안전한 것으로 조사됐습니다.

골프장에 사용이 금지된 고독성 농약은 검출되지 않았고 다만 35개 골프장의
토양과 연못에서 저독성 농약 10여 종이 검출됐습니다.

보건환경연구원은 앞으로 친환경 농약 사용을 적극 권장할 계획입니다.
