Consumer prices rise 2.8% in January
Fastest growth since 2011

Consumers prices last month in Jeju grew at the fastest pace in years.

According to a report on economic trends by the Jeju branch of the Bank of Korea, prices were up 2.8 percent last month compared to January 2016.

That’s the highest growth since December 2011.

Analysts say the main reasons for the growth were an 8.5 percent spike in prices for agricultural products and a 3.6 percent rise in prices for personal services.

제주 소비자물가 2.8%상승…6년만에 '최고'

지난달 제주도내 소비자물가가 6년만에 가장 큰 상승폭을 보였습니다.

한국은행 제주본부가 발표한 제주지역 실물경제 동향에 따르면 지난달 제주지역의 소비자 물가는 지난해 같은기간보다 2.8% 올랐습니다.

이같은 상승률은 지난 2011년 12월 이후 가장 높은 수준입니다.

특히 농축수산물과 개인서비스가 각각 8.5%와 3.6% 오르며 상승세를 이끌었습니다.
